ANNUAL PROGRESS REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2020-21

 “The secret of our glorious victory lies in bent knees with head bowed.” Bend thy nobility under the sublimity, surrendering thy will for the holiest to accomplish. The searing source of creation our creator, takes no rest in uniting our journey of education on the trail of triumph. There is always a podium laid for every individual to Dream   !  To Drive! To Determine! To Decide their Destiny! HPCE from 2007 is one of the best in discovering every approach as flair to bloom into vibrant colors. We invite all your eyesight to view all our hard works, commitments and success stories which can be attributed to the whole hearted dedication and team spirit of the   staff and the students under the able guidance, foresight support, enthusiasm and inspiration of our visionary Management.

Highlights of 2020-21 

  • A TVH cultural Test was organized on 17th April virtually by the Visual House where different competitions were announced for the students as photography, creative posters, written & video submissions on how we all can bring ourselves to deal with the reality of the lockdown. The idea was simple to stay home , stay safe and to use their spare time in creativity.
  • A Virtual Youth Convention was organized on 27th April by HP State Aids Control Society and Gunjan Organization for Community Development, Dharmshala discussing Social change in last 50 years and challenges ahead-Responsible choices for bright future.
  • An online workshop on Swachta Action plan by Mahatama Gandhi National Council of Rural Education, Deptt. of Higher Education, MHRD was organized on 15th June, 2020 both for teachers & students. The main motive of this workshop was to aware them about how to keep their surroundings and environment clean.
  • Due to COVID pandemic, online classes of 2nd &4th semester started from 17th June onwards with the help of Google Meet & Zoom App.
  • An Online Awareness quiz Competition on Covid-19 was held on 18th June, 2020 by NSS Unit and department of Govt. College Jwalaji, Kangra. This quiz was conducted with the help of Google Forms.
  • A Google classroom was formed for both semesters i.e. 2nd & 4th in month of June where teachers send all the study material of their respective courses to the students. Also assignments of different courses by the students were submitted in the same.
  • Virtual competitions were organized by Red Ribbon Club from 18th to 31st August for celebrating International Youth Day. The completions include Mehndi competition, Rangoli Making, Poster-Making & Slogan –Writing. The theme of the competition was Youth Engagement for Global Action.
  • Final Examination of both 2nd & 4th semester started from 7th October, 2020.
  • Online quiz competition at district level was organized by HP State Aids control Society on 10th October 2020.The topics for quiz were HIV/AIDS and Health Nutrition.
  • An Orientation was given to 3rd semester students to make them aware of the activities of the new semester on 6th November, 2019.
  • A Virtual event on World Aids Day 2020 under the theme “Global Solidarity, Shared Responsibility” was organized by secretary Health & Family Welfare, Government of India on 1st
  • An online card-Making and Video-Making competition was organized on 15th December 2020 by Red Ribbon Club. The students have to spread message regarding truth and myths about HIV/AIDS in their cards & Videos.
  • The admission procedure for the session 2020-22 commenced in the month of January.
  • An Activity was organized on 12th January 2021 on occasion of National Youth Day in the College premises. Students conveyed some positive thoughts to youth regarding AIDS by hanging some cards /Notes on a Tree and also decorated it with Red Ribbon showing the symbol of AIDS.
  • A short film making competition was organized by HP State Aids Control Society on HIV/AIDS. Students have to prepare a short Movie for three minutes duration. The Competition was announced on 3rd January and students were given time to submit their entries till 31st
  • The academic Session 2020-22 began on 10th February with an Orientation Programme organized with an aim of acculturating pupil-teachers to their new profession by familiarizing them the course content and also to help them adjust with the new situation.
  • A Career Assessment Test was organized by Pearl academy and UPES, Dehradun on 3rd March, 2021.

It was a five dimensional test where each student was assessed on the basis of Orientation, Interest, Personality Traits, Emotional Intelligence and Aptitude.

  • A Seminar was conducted on HIV/AIDS on 6th March in DDU Hospital. The students were addressed by BMO, Shimla and DAPO, Shimla. Their entire speech revolved around the causes and mitigation of Aids.
  • Again after lockdown in the month of April due to Covid-19, online classes of 1st &3rd semester started from 22nd April with the help of Google Meet.
  • A Virtual Webinar was organized on 13th May by Pearl academy .the Topic of the Webinar was “Learn How to take care of your Mental Health”. It was mainly conducted for College level students as Covid-19 had brought changes and challenges in everybody’s life and the uncertainty and isolation could make youth stressed and anxious.
  • An online workshop was scheduled on 17th May, 2021 by MGNCRE, Ministry of Education, Government of India with the help of Zoom App. The topic of the workshop was “Guidance on Psychological Skill to helpers during pandemic.”
  • On line House Examinations of 1st Semester were kept from 23rd May onwards.
  • Online House Examination of 3rd Semester were dated on 28th & 30th
  • Online Internal Final Teaching Practice of 3rd Semester students were organized on 4th &5th
  • World Environment Day was Celebrated on 5th June where teachers and students planted variety of flowers and trees at their home and in their surroundings.
  • A Virtual Orientation Programme was conducted for 2nd Semester students to aware them about the courses and activities they are going to carry out in their new Semester on 7th
  • Online classes of 2nd &4th Semester begin from 8th June with the help of Google Meet & Zoom App.

ANNUAL PROGRESS REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2018-19

    Looking at the dearth and demand in the field of higher, professional and quality education and also to provide best educational services to its domestic and national students, HP College of Education was established in the year 2007. Following the previous year traditions the year 2018-19 was also marked with many events and success stories which can be attributed to the whole hearted dedication and team spirit of the Staff and the Students under the able guidance, foresight support, enthusiasm and inspiration of our visionary Management.

Highlights of 2018-19

 

  • On August 1st students of 3rd semester (Session 2017-19) were sent for School Internshipin the allotted schools for a period of four months.
  • The admission procedure for the Session 2018-20 commenced on October, 3rd.
  • The Academic Session 2018-20 began on October, 25th with an Orientation Programme organized with an aim of acculturating pupil-teachers to their new profession by familiarizing them the course content and also to help them adjust with the new situation.
  • National Unity Day was celebrated on October 31st to commemorate the birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. Inter-house Card Making, Poem writing and Essay writing Competition were organized on this occasion.
  • In order to commemorate Jawahar Lal Nehru’s Birth Anniversary, Children’s Day was Celebrated in the college Auditorium on 14th November. Sh. K.C. Sharma, Principal, HPCE shared the contribution of Chacha Nehru in the field of Education , politics and in establishing many Institutes as All India Institute of Medical Sciences etc. A dance party was organized for the students followed by refreshments.
  • A Seminar was conducted on HIV/AIDS awareness on 20th Nov. in DDU Hospital. The students were addressed by BMO, Shimla. His entire speech revolved around the causes and mitigation of AIDS.
  • Youth Seminar was organized by Sri Satya Sai Seva Organisation, on 24th November as a part of Birthday celebration of Sri Satya Sai Baba at Fingask Estate, Near Kali Bari, Shimla.
  • To spread awareness about HIV/AIDS among the upcoming teachers, Worlds Aids Day was celebrated on 1st December under the theme” Know your status ” in the College auditorium. Slogan Writing and Poster Making competition were organized in the college. Afterwards a rally from College to Yadgar was organized to aware the community which ends with a Nukkar Natika at Totu Chowk.
  • On December 8th ‘Parichay’ a fresher’s party was organized in the College Auditorium. Students of 3rd semester welcomed the new students by showing their different performances. New students also showed their talent in different modeling rounds where we got our Mr. Fresher and Miss Fresher, 2018.
  • To make students perfect in how to prepare proper teaching aids and how to present them in the Classroom a chart making competition was organized in the College auditorium on 15th December.
  • To know the conditions of teachers and students in present scenario, the different problems faced by the teachers and how they handle them, a movie ’Hichki’ was screened in the college auditorium on 22nd December . It also highlights the qualities of a good teacher.
  • The University Result of both 4th semester students session (2016-18) and 2nd Semester Students session (2017-19) was good as always with more than 60 out of 66 students securing First Division in 4th semester and more than 90 out of 99 students securing First Division in 2nd semester.
  • To take walk down the corridors of nostalgia, the student Alumni Meet, ‘Reuniao’ was organized on 29th December in the college auditorium. Old students relish their memories with batch mates, seniors & juniors.
  • The College closed for Winter Vacations in the month of January 2018 and the College Re-opened on February 3rd 2019.
  • House examinations for 1st Semester were held in the second week of February.
  • The Final Examination for 1st and 3rd Semester commenced on February 27th. Despite the cold the students saw through the exams.
  • An Orientation & experience sharing session was conducted on 8th March in which students shared their experiences.
  • The Final Examination of Skill in Teaching for 3rd Semester students of session 2017-19 was held on March 18th and 20th.
  • On 22nd March a lecture on Water Conservation was given explaining the importance of saving water “Jal hai to kal hai ” This invaluable message was put forward by the college principal Dr. K. C. Sharma.
  • With the objective of promoting intellectual growth and healthy competition spirit in the students a general knowledge Quiz Competition was held on 30th March.
  • With the motive to provide invaluable life skills, a Sports Fest was organized in the Campus on April 6th . Students enthusiastically participated and grasped the opportunity to fine tune their motor skills. Yashasvi & Manasvi House was declared the overall winner of the event.
  • In order to spread awareness about the election and voting procedure staff of the Institutionorganized various Competitions including Slogan writing and Poster making on April 20th. Also a guest lecture was given by SWEEP members. They provide information about a citizen’s role in voting during elections. Later the day prizes were awarded to the winners of the Competition.
  • An Art and craft Competition was organized on 27th April under the course ‘Drama and Art in Education’. The students prepare different items group wise such as flower pot, pen stand, chalk & duster stand with maximum use of waste.
  • An Interaction programme was organized by guidance & counseling cell on 18th May to make the students aware about The Guidance & counseling cell along with to promote the maximum development of each child in terms of possibilities available to them.
  • House Test for Second and Fourth Semesters were held in the last week of May andstarting week of June.
  • A Guest Lecture on “Importance of Physical Exercise & Yoga” was given on 3rd June by Yoga trainer and expert Mr. Hitesh Gill. He added that frequent & regular physical exercises and yoga boosts the immune system and help in preventing certain ‘diseases of appliances’. Also a training programme was organized for the students in the college auditorium from 3rd to 8th June under the supervision of Mr. Hitesh Gill.
  • “Yoga is the dance of every cell with the music of every breath that creates inner serenity and harmony”, such were the words of Dr. K.C. Sharma, Principal, HPCE on International Yoga Day which was celebrated in the college auditorium on 21st June. Students also did different Yoga Asanas guided by Mr. Hitesh Gill & Miss. Diksha Thakur. Also a quiz competition was organized groupwise under the supervision of Mrs. Sukirti Thakur in which Yashasvi and Rajasvi House took first positions.
  • “Rasm- E- Rukhsat” farewell party was organized on 22nd June to make the closing of B.Ed. session more memorable. Students participated in different activities with great enthusiasm Miss Raveena and Mr. Moti Singh were given the title of Miss & Mr. HPCE
